Geno Carr
SPEAKER COACH
Geno Carr is a San Diego-based actor, singer, director, and educator best known for originating the role of Oz and others in the Tony and Olivier Award-winning musical Come From Away. With a career spanning On and Off-Broadway, five national tours, and over 100 productions across North America, Geno has established himself as a versatile and accomplished performer.
As a director, he has helmed plays and musicals at institutions such as Sarah Lawrence College, Stephens College, Grossmont College, Hartwick College, the Heritage Theatre Festival, and Moonlight Youth Theatre. Geno served as Assistant Professor of Theatre and Guest Artist at Stephens College for two years and is currently an adjunct faculty member at Grossmont College. His teaching experience also includes MiraCosta College and three voyages with Semester at Sea.
In New York, he worked with Broadway Classroom, Believe NYC, Junior Tours, and Broadway Arts Collective, while in San Diego, he co-directed education programs for the San Diego Musical Theatre Academy and taught at North Coast Repertory Theatre, North County School of the Arts, Intrepid Theatre, and Moonlight Youth Theatre.
Geno holds an MFA in Acting and Directing from Sarah Lawrence College and a dual BA in Music and Theatre from Hartwick College. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
